Memory Master 101

The Basics

This tutorial will enable you to memorise and recall 24 items which can be recalled at will.
This memory system is quick and easy to learn not only does it exercise your brain, it helps you to increase your visualisation skills.

Your new skills can be used for countless applications, i.e. to remember daily tasks or appointments, to help with tests at school, or to help you perform amazing memory tricks.

Why only 24 associations? The 24 associations have been chosen to tie in with the 24 hours in the day, but once you learn the basics you can expand to any number of associations you wish.

One of the easiest ways to remember things is to is to use a powerful technique called “visualisation”. If you can imagine a weird or funny thing and associate it with what you want to remember, it will make it easy to recall whatever you wish, whenever you wish.
Why is this so? Our brains seem to remember things that are out of the norm better than normal day to day things.

For example, in a crowded room of people wearing normal clothes a person dressed in a clown suit would stand out a mile, you wouldn’t forget that image in a hurry.
Now imagine if that clown was holding a sign up. On that sign is written what you want to remember; Think of something you want to remember, it can be a meeting or TV programme or even a shopping item. For example, let’s say you need to buy milk at 4 pm. Visualise the words “MILK AT 4PM” on the sign that is being held up by the clown. Just spend 10 seconds or so picturing this in your mind.
Now when you look at a clock or watch or even see the number 4 written anywhere else, your mind will automatically associate it with a picture of a clown holding up a sign. You will remember what it says on the sign and will do so every day at 4 pm until such time you wish to forget and let go of that memory. It’s as easy as that.

There are many books on this subject and all of them use some form of system to associate images to numbers. I have chosen to devise my own system which is probably easier to learn than other system…simply because I have chosen to associate numbers to parts of the human body. You will only need to look at yourself to remind you of the association should you ever forget.

This is how my system works.

You will need to memorise the following:-

1 - Hair
2 - Eyebrows
3 - Eyes
4 - Ears
5 - Nose
6 - Mouth
7 - Chin
8 - Neck
9 - Chest
10 - Heart
11 - Shoulders
12 - Arms
13 - Elbows
14 - Hands
15 - Fist
16 - Nails
17 - Stomach
18 - Back
19 - Bum
20 - Legs
21 - Knees
22 - Feet
23 - Ankle
24 - Toes

It is very important that you do not take any short cuts, PLEASE LEARN THE BODY PARTS AND THEIR ASSOCIATED NUMBERS. This is the system you will be using to help you memorise anything you want.

Don't forget, when you form associations it is better to think of something wacky and crazy as your mind will remember this better, i.e. look at no:15, lets say your'e using this system to remind you of something that needs doing at 3pm (15.00 hours), for example meet with a friend, you can link the fist to the number 15 by visualising you holding your friend in a fist, or you putting your fist through your friends face and out the other side, the crazier the picture the better it will be remembered.

Other ways to help you remember is by using mnemonics (assist your brain), i.e. if you wanted to remember the planets you could memorise the following:
My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets.
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto
